Tinubu Orders Immediate Rescue of Niger Mosque Abduction Victims
President Bola Tinubu has ordered Nigeria’s security and intelligence agencies to intensify efforts to rescue victims abducted during the deadly attack on a mosque in Niger State.
The President directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other relevant security agencies to act swiftly to locate and bring the abducted victims home safely.
The directive was announced on Tuesday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu Condemns Deadly Mosque Attack
Tinubu expressed outrage over the attack, which left innocent citizens dead and others in the hands of their abductors.
The President described the perpetrators as enemies of peace and humanity, warning that those responsible for the brutal assault would not be allowed to escape justice.
He also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, acknowledging the pain and uncertainty faced by relatives still waiting for their loved ones to return.
Security Chiefs Ordered to Give Regular Updates
As the rescue operation continues, Tinubu has directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the progress being made until everyone abducted during the attack has been accounted for.
The President assured the affected families that the government would not abandon them during the crisis.
“You are not alone. The entire nation shares your anguish,” Tinubu said, while pledging that efforts would continue until the abducted victims are safely reunited with their families.
Tinubu: Terror Will Not Cow Nigeria
The President further insisted that acts of terrorism and criminal violence would not intimidate the country or weaken the government’s resolve to protect its citizens.
He stressed the need for security agencies to defend vulnerable communities, protect lives and restore confidence among residents affected by attacks.
The latest directive comes as pressure mounts on security agencies to secure the safe return of the mosque attack victims and bring those behind the violence to justice.
