Shinkafi Vows to Continue Zamfara Campaign Despite Court Challenge
Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and aspirant for the Zamfara North Senatorial District, has vowed to continue his campaign despite an ongoing court case challenging the party’s primary election.
Shinkafi made the declaration on Monday while speaking with journalists in Gusau, saying the legal dispute would not prevent him from mobilising supporters or campaigning for the APC and his candidacy.
Shinkafi: Court Case Won’t Stop My Campaign
The APC chieftain said his campaign and mobilisation teams would be constituted according to the party’s official campaign timetable.
He also expressed confidence that the court would eventually rule in his favour, insisting that he had a right to campaign while the legal process continues.
“Nobody can intimidate me. I have every right to campaign for the APC and for my candidature. I am confident that, based on what we have presented before the court, we will win the case.”
His comments come as the dispute surrounding the Zamfara North senatorial primary continues to attract attention within the party.
Shinkafi Calls for Stronger Action on Insecurity
Beyond the primary election dispute, Shinkafi called on the Zamfara State Government to place greater emphasis on security, human capital development and the welfare of residents.
He argued that improving security in Zamfara would not only benefit residents of the state but could also have a wider impact on neighbouring states, including Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi and Niger.
According to him, insecurity remains one of the biggest challenges facing the region and requires greater attention and resources.
APC Chieftain Urges Zamfara Government to Prioritise Security
Shinkafi also urged Governor Dauda Lawal to consider reviewing spending on new projects and directing more resources towards tackling insecurity and improving the living conditions of residents.
He maintained that restoring peace and protecting communities should remain a major priority, particularly because insecurity in Zamfara continues to affect surrounding communities and states.
For now, Shinkafi says the court battle will not slow down his political activities, as he prepares to continue his campaign while awaiting the outcome of the legal challenge.
