Hyacinth Alia Points to Projects as Key to 2027 Re-election Bid

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has boasted that the numerous projects and initiatives his administration has rolled out will form the basis of his re-election bid in 2027. Speaking during a public meeting whose clip has since gone viral on social media, Alia noted that the visible fruits of his governance will be his primary campaign narrative.
He further challenged members of the opposition to focus on delivering similar projects instead of criticising his achievements. The clip has gone viral among Benue political pundits who have shared it extensively on social media.
While Alia’s supporters shared the clip with supportive captions, his detractors questioned the scale and quality of the alleged projects rolled out by his administration. In recent days, Alia’s camp has been posting pictures and videos of the projects being rolled out across the state.
Projects Take Centre Stage
The governor has positioned himself to leverage the visible projects for his re-election as he faces a heated election cycle.
It remains to be seen if the projects will be sufficient for him to secure his second term in office. For now, the governor’s emphasis on visible projects has made them a central part of the political conversation ahead of the 2027 election.
