Amotekun Rescues Woman and Two Children From Kidnappers in Ondo

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, have rescued a woman and her two children from kidnappers in the Isingbo-Osi axis of Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The victims were rescued after residents raised a distress call over the kidnap incident. According to the state Amotekun commander, Adetunji Adeleye, security operatives reached the area within five minutes of receiving the alert.

Amotekun Responds Within Minutes to Kidnap Alert

Adeleye disclosed the rescue while parading 10 suspects arrested for alleged involvement in various crimes across the state, including kidnapping, armed robbery, motorcycle theft and church burglary.

He said the rapid response to the distress call played a major role in securing the release of the woman and her children.

The commander also highlighted the growing cooperation between security agencies and local communities as a major factor helping to tackle criminal activities in Ondo State.

Collaboration With Fulani Community Helps Track Suspects

Adeleye further revealed that cooperation between Amotekun operatives and members of the Fulani community had assisted security personnel in identifying some of the suspected kidnappers arrested during recent operations.

The development, he said, shows the importance of community cooperation in gathering information and identifying individuals linked to criminal activities.

Suspects Allegedly Sold Stolen Motorcycles for N70,000

Among those paraded were two suspects identified as Joseph, 25, and Friday, 20, who were allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles and reselling them.

According to the allegations, some of the stolen motorcycles, including brand-new ones, were sold for as little as N70,000 each.

Their arrests formed part of the wider operation targeting criminal networks operating in different parts of the state.

Ondo Records Drop in Criminal Activities

Giving an assessment of the security situation in Ondo State, Adeleye said criminal activities had dropped significantly across the state.

He attributed the improvement to the combined efforts of Amotekun and other security agencies working to disrupt criminal operations and improve safety for residents.

The commander said the recent results were a positive indication that sustained cooperation among security agencies and communities could further reduce criminality across Ondo State.
