Wizkid, Ayra Starr, And Others Win At 2026 MOBO Awards
Wizkid and Ayra Starr, two Nigerian musicians, were winners from yesterday 2026 MOBO Awards in Manchester, United Kingdom. The Best African Music Act award went to Wizkid. He defeated Davido, Rema, and Tiwa Savage, among other well-known Nigerian celebrities, to win the category.
Ayra Starr had a great evening as well, taking home the Best International Act prize. To win the prize, she defeated international celebrities like Cardi B and Gunna.
Niko Omilana, a well-known British-Nigerian media personality, also won the Best Media Personality title.
Manchester hosted the MOBO Awards for the first time in 2026. The event honoured a number of gifted performers from all around the world while celebrating Black music and culture.
The trio DC3, which received both Best Newcomer and Best Gospel Act, and producer P2J, who won Best Producer, were among the other Nigerians honoured at the event.
