Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has broken his silence on his reported fallout with Nigerian music star Davido, claiming the disagreement began after he rejected a ₦50 million offer linked to a political campaign.

Speaking in Pidgin English, he said:
“Davido and his crew offered me money. They called me to come and meet the governor, his uncle, and said I would collect ₦50 million. Ask them what I told them. A lot of people would have accepted because ₦50 million is a huge amount, but I rejected it.”
He added that many events surrounding the issue were unknown to the public, suggesting there was more behind the scenes than what people assumed.

VeryDarkMan also revealed that the last meaningful conversation he had with Davido was over a promised $5,000 gift to a young man in Ghana.
According to him, Davido appeared to have forgotten about the promise, which led many social media users to accuse VDM of using the situation for publicity.
The activist explained that he later contacted Davido privately through direct messages to remind him about the payment.

“The last time Davido and I spoke was about the Ghana boy he promised $5,000. I think he forgot, and people were insulting me because they believed we used it for clout. I sent him a DM asking him to pay the boy, and after that, they eventually made the payment.”
