B-Red Says Adeleke Family Is Not in Politics for Money, Predicts Major Change if Father Becomes President
Nigerian singer B-Red has opened up about his family’s involvement in politics, insisting that his father, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and other members of the family are not seeking political positions because of money.
The singer said the Adeleke family already has enough wealth and therefore has no financial reason to depend on political office.
According to B-Red, his family’s involvement in politics is driven largely by a desire to help people and contribute to society.
B-Red: We Don’t Need Politics for Money
Speaking during an interview on the Echo Room podcast, B-Red maintained that his family has enjoyed generational wealth long before several of its members became involved in politics.
He explained that political power was not necessary for the family to become financially successful, stressing that their decision to participate in politics was about service rather than personal enrichment.
“We don’t need politics for money; we have been rich for a long time. My family is only in politics to help.”
His comments come as members of the Adeleke family continue to maintain a strong presence in both Nigerian politics and entertainment.
B-Red Predicts Big Changes If Adeleke Becomes President
B-Red also expressed confidence in his father’s leadership ability, saying Nigeria would experience significant improvements if Ademola Adeleke eventually became President.
The singer said he believes his father has what it takes to make a major difference at the national level.
“If my dad, Governor Ademola Adeleke, becomes the President of Nigeria, things will improve drastically.”
However, despite his confidence in his father’s ability, B-Red admitted that he would not necessarily want Ademola Adeleke to pursue the presidency because of the enormous pressure that comes with occupying Nigeria’s highest political office.
“But I don’t want my dad to be President because the pressure will be too much.”
Adeleke Family’s Growing Political Influence
The Adeleke family has maintained a notable presence in Nigerian public life for decades, with members holding important political and public positions.
The late Isiaka Adeleke served as Governor of Osun State, while Ademola Adeleke is the current governor of the state.
The family’s influence also extends into Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with Afrobeats superstar Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, being one of its most prominent members.
Several members of the wider Adeleke family have also been involved in political activities and government, further cementing the family’s influence across both entertainment and politics.
B-Red’s Comments Add to Debate Around Adeleke’s Political Future
B-Red’s remarks have added fresh attention to questions about Ademola Adeleke’s political ambitions beyond Osun State.
While the governor has not been presented in the singer’s comments as an announced presidential candidate, B-Red’s prediction has nevertheless reignited discussion about what a possible national political future could look like for his father.
