Peter Obi reacts to Atiku claim that 2027 will be his last presidential run

In response to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s recent statement that, should he win the African Democratic Candidate (ADC) ticket, 2027 would be his last presidential run, Peter Obi has responded.

Obi referred to Atiku as his elder brother and revered leader in an interview with the Naija Unfiltered podcast on Saturday.

“We are not yet at that stage,” he stated. Atiku is both my beloved older brother and my esteemed leader.

I will always repeat that his speech is a statement of a leader, and notice how he used the word “if.” Therefore, we are unable to predict what will occur tomorrow. All I can say is that I’m running for president.

Obi insisted that his approval would solely depend on the process’s legitimacy when asked if he would follow any agreement made during party primaries.

“As long as it’s done in a transparent, credible, and fair manner, I don’t mind what happens later.

I’ve previously stated that I left parties because I thought the entire procedure was transactional. He said, “It’s crucial that the process by which people enter office is far more fundamental than what they do after.”

He cautioned against taking short cuts and highlighted the significance of due process in the development of leadership.

“You can’t enter the house through the window, start cleaning it, and then expect everyone to accept you.” “The procedure needs to be correct,” Obi continued.
