FCT residents now have a government that listens, says Tinubu
According to President Bola Tinubu, his administration plans, listens, and fulfils its commitments to Nigerians.
According to President Bola Tinubu, his administration plans, listens, and fulfils its commitments to Nigerians. Tinubu made the statement while pointing out that the days of ignoring Abuja’s satellite towns are past.
As part of initiatives to commemorate Tinubu’s third anniversary, he gave a speech at the Water Supply Network To Karu Satellite Town commissioning.
Wike says, “I stand with you to commission the water supply network to Karu and its environs with a deep sense of fulfilment and gratitude.”
“We formally announce today that the period of disregard for our satellite towns has come to an end.
We made a sacred pact with the Nigerian people when we introduced the Renewed Hope Agenda, promising that administration would no longer be a theatrical exercise limited to the board rooms of the city centers while our people on the periphery battled for basic necessities.
“We pledged to have a government that plans, listens, and most importantly delivers.
“When we commissioned the Abuja Greater Water Supply project just a year ago, I stood in front of the country and issued an order stating that the metropolitan loops should extend into the satellite towns, which are home to the majority of Abuja’s working people, rather than just the wealthy districts.
“We did not hesitate when Wike presented the plan for the Karu Water Supply project because we understood that water is life and that depriving our people of clean water would deprive them of their heart, dignity, and economic advancement.
“To demonstrate our steadfast dedication, we refused to let the customary constraints of bureaucratic hold-ups impede its progress.
We are commissioning 194 km of second rail and tertiary pipeline networks today, bringing treated, safe, and portable water to the doorstep of Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kuruduru, and nearby communities because we paid the contractor, CGC Nigeria, on time.
Additionally, the president praised Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his leadership.
“Let me take a moment to comment on our administration’s Mr. Project, Wike. He continued, “Leadership is measured by tangible and verifiable impact on ordinary citizens, not by the eloquence of television commentary or the bitterness of empty.”
