Umahi advises South-East to act smart to secure the presidency

In order to position itself to produce the next president after Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Southeast has been advised by Minister of Works Dave Umahi to take a strategic approach. In an effort to reduce traffic in advance of the Easter festivities, Umahi made the announcement on Thursday when the Enugu-Onitsha Motorway opened to automobile traffic.

Additionally, the minister expressed confidence that Tinubu will receive 80% of the Southeast votes in the general elections of 2027. He declared, “I want to call on the leaders of the Southeast to be bold in persuading our people to vote for Mr. President.”

“Development, building infrastructure, ensuring fairness, promoting equity, and upholding justice” are the cornerstones of governance, he continued.

“We can’t afford to give him anything less than 80 percent; do that and leave the rest to us,” Umahi said, emphasising the need of receiving landslide electoral support. We’ll approach the negotiation table with confidence.

“No one should divide our votes or deceive us. In 2023, as governor, I shouted, “Prepare the way for the Lord.”
