Wande Coal Fires Back at Davido Over Unreleased ‘Come My Way’ Collaboration

Wande Coal has hit back at Davido following comments about their unreleased collaboration, “Come My Way,” reigniting discussion among fans over what happened to the record.
The back-and-forth began after Davido spoke about the song and explained that Wande Coal had approached him to contribute to the track before its release.
According to Davido, he recorded his verse and was impressed with how it turned out, describing the contribution as “mad, mad.” However, the collaboration was never officially released.
Davido Explains Why the Collaboration Never Came Out
Davido claimed that Wande Coal originally intended to release “Come My Way” and later put out another version featuring Davido as a remix.
The singer said he was not comfortable with that arrangement, arguing that his contribution should be part of the original release rather than being added later as a remix.
Despite the disagreement over how the record should be released, the song eventually remained unreleased with Davido suggesting that the collaboration could have produced a major record.
Wande Coal Challenges Davido’s Version of Events
Wande Coal has now responded to the comments, appearing to reject the idea that Davido should have had control over how the song was released.
In a blunt reaction, the former Mo’ Hits star questioned why Davido would expect to dictate the release strategy for a song that already belonged to him and had its own release plans.
“Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song fuckin’ did well without you on it, bruv!”
Wande Coal’s response suggests that “Come My Way” already had a release plan before Davido’s verse was added, and that the song eventually performed well without the proposed collaboration.
Fans React as Old Collaboration Drama Resurfaces
The exchange has quickly caught the attention of Nigerian music fans, with listeners debating both artists’ accounts of what happened behind the scenes.
While Davido believes the collaboration could have become a standout record, Wande Coal’s response makes it clear that he sees the situation differently.
The controversy has also renewed curiosity around “Come My Way” and the version featuring Davido. For now, however, there is no indication that the unreleased collaboration will officially see the light of day.
