In Yobe State Karasuwa Local Government Area, troops from Operation Hadin Kai have stopped a car that was transporting a significant amount of fuel that may have been obtained illegally. Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed the information in a post on X on Sunday.

According to the report, soldiers from the 241 Battalion stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Jajimaji conducted the operation on March 27 at approximately 11:38 p.m.

According to reports, the forces took action based on reliable information about possible illicit fuel activity involving some local petrol stations.

The troops stopped a car they believed was carrying fuel while on a nighttime patrol along the Karasuwa–Jajiri road.

According to the source, “during the night patrol, troops intercepted a vehicle, but the driver abandoned it and fled upon seeing the troops.”

Following a search of the car, 34 jerrycans holding 25 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) were found, totalling approximately 850 litres.

According to reports, troops searched the area in an unsuccessful attempt to capture the driver who was running away.

While attempts are underway to identify the allegedly involved filling stations and apprehend individuals responsible, the seized fuel is presently under military custody.
