Delta North Senate Race: Ned Nwoko Declares Interest, Welcomes Okowa Into Contest

There will be fierce competition in the Delta North Senatorial Zone prior to the general election in 2027. According to the newspaper, former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa declared his interest in the role three days ago.
Senator Ned Nwoko, who has been diligently campaigning for the establishment of Anioma State, now represents the senatorial district.
Speaking to reporters on Friday at the Asaba International Airport, Nwoko stated that he will continue to speak for the zone’s residents.
They both belong to the All Progressives Congress, or APC.
But Okowa joined the broom party last year with the governor of Delta State, while Nwoko has been a steadfast supporter.
Before the governor defected, Nwoko was a significant APC leader in the state.
Along with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the former deputy president of the Senate, the senator expressed trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and further national reforms and promised to work for his reelection.
He claimed that the sizable gathering of fans that greeted them at the airport was evidence of the close relationship he has with the people of Delta North.
In addition, he warned against a return to what he called “old politics” and asked voters to hold true to their support for progressive government. Nwoko supported Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s view on the creation of Anioma State, pointing out that Akpabio’s position is the official one.
In order to provide access to higher education and promote regional development, Nwoko revealed intentions to transform the Federal College of Education, Asaba, into a federal university.
