Burna Boy Stopped Speaking to Me Over False Affair Rumours, Shatta Wale Claims

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has alleged that his once-close relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy fell apart after false rumours claimed he had an affair with Burna Boy’s girlfriend.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Shatta Wale recounted how he hosted Burna Boy during one of the singer’s visits to Ghana, saying he made sure the Grammy-winning artist was comfortable throughout his stay.

According to Shatta Wale, he provided accommodation, vehicles, and other support while Burna Boy was in the country, describing the relationship between them at the time as cordial.

However, the Ghanaian musician claimed things changed after he parted ways with some members of his former team.

He alleged that the ex-associates began spreading false stories to influential people in his circle in an attempt to damage his relationships, including one involving Burna Boy.

“They told Burna Boy that I was f**king his girl he brought to Ghana. He just bought it,” Shatta Wale claimed.

The dancehall star said the alleged rumour caused a major rift between them, adding that Burna Boy stopped responding to his calls and messages as his international career continued to soar.

Shatta Wale further claimed he reached out to Burna Boy’s mother and manager in an effort to clear the air but was unable to reconnect with the Nigerian singer.

Despite the alleged fallout, Shatta Wale said he remains happy about Burna Boy’s global success. However, he expressed disappointment that the Afrobeats star allegedly never gave him the opportunity to explain his side of the story or verify the claims before distancing himself.

As of the time of this report, Burna Boy has not publicly responded to Shatta Wale’s allegations.
