Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated on Monday that President Bola Tinubu’s backing was essential to the commissioning of projects throughout Abuja.
As part of initiatives to commemorate Tinubu’s third anniversary, Wike gave a speech at the Water Supply Network To Karu Satellite Town commissioning.
Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the function on behalf of the president.
“Mr. President, you will remember that last year when you were having the second year anniversary and commissioning of Abuja Greater Water Supply, you did say that we should move from the city to the Satellite Town
In the National Budget for 2025, you included water supply to the Satellite Towns in AMAC, Karu, and its neighbouring communities, as well as in Bwari.” Thus, you supplied water to two local councils.
“Mr. President, in less than a year, you have returned to commission the provision of water in Karu and its adjacent settlements because you ordered the full and early release of what was given in the national budget.
However, without your help, it would not have been achievable in less than a year. As the ES has stated, this contract was awarded in August of last year, and we are currently in June of fully commissioning it. We will also commission the one in Bwari Area Council on July 14.
As you mentioned, it’s not just about building roads in the satellite towns and infrastructure in the metropolis; it’s also about providing the people with water, which is quite basic.
“To the glory of God, the Renewed Hope Agenda is working and people can see it, and I’m sure the community would be happy and smiling.”
