Wakili Explains Eeaning Of El-Rufai Unexpected Release From ICPC Custody
Popular social media pundit Imran U. Wakili has asserted that Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, was wrongfully arrested when he was abruptly released from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission’s (ICPC) detention.
MYTIMENG: According to reports, El-Rufai mother, Hajiya Umma, passed away on Friday. Shortly after, the former governor was released by ICPC.
In response, Wakili stated in a post published on X that the authorities merely intended to humiliate the firmer governor and that his protracted arrest was not justified by any evidence of crime.
The social media influencer claims that the release’s timing indicates that the arrest and incarceration had hidden agendas.
Wakili remarked, “Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai sudden release demonstrates that they were only holding him to humiliate him, not because he committed any crime.”
Although the release could show “a little conscience,” he continued, it also highlights what he called unfair treatment.
