Police dismiss viral report of attack on Nafiu Bala residence

The claims that Mr. Nafiu Bala, a factional leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), had his home set on fire in Gombe State have been refuted by the Gombe State Police Command.
According to newspaper reports, the myth started about 5 p.m. on Wednesday and was fuelled by posts that included fire footage purportedly belonging to Bala.
In a statement, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, clarified the accusations and called them untrue. “The Command confirms that the report is false, as no such incident has been recorded anywhere in the State,” the statement read.
The people was also encouraged to ignore the false information by CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, Commissioner of Police.
It claimed that the command was still committed to ensuring security and peace throughout Gombe State.
