Nigerian Air Force Precision Strike Destroys Terrorist Hideout in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation HADIN KAI, has carried out a precision airstrike on a suspected terrorist hideout in Borno State, successfully destroying the structure and reportedly neutralising everyone inside.

The operation is part of the military’s ongoing campaign to weaken terrorist networks operating across Nigeria’s North-East.

Intelligence Operation Led to Early Morning Airstrike

According to security reports, the mission was launched in the early hours of July 20 after intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) assets detected suspicious activities around KLA Balia in the Lake Chad region of Borno State.

The surveillance platform, identified by the codename GUARDIAN, maintained aerial observation over the area from approximately 5:35 a.m., allowing military personnel to confirm the suspected terrorist location before authorising the strike.

Following positive target identification, the aircraft executed a precision-guided attack on the hideout.

Suspected Terrorists Reportedly Neutralised

A Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted shortly after the operation indicated that the targeted building was completely destroyed.

Military assessments also showed that the structure was engulfed in flames after the strike, with all suspected terrorists inside believed to have been neutralised.

The aircraft reportedly remained over the target area for a short period to monitor the outcome of the operation before safely returning to base.

Operation Part of Wider Counterterrorism Campaign

The latest airstrike forms part of the Nigerian military’s sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and disrupt insurgent activities across the North-East.

Security operations under Operation HADIN KAI have increasingly relied on intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance and precision strikes to target terrorist camps, logistics hubs and movement routes in the Lake Chad region.

Military authorities continue to intensify operations aimed at restricting insurgents’ ability to regroup and operate within affected communities.
