Gas Explosion Sparks Fire in Lagos, Attendant Injured

According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, firefighters arrived at the area by 12:34 p.m. after receiving a distress call at approximately 12:23 p.m. Fire stations from Sari Iganmu and Ajegunle were sent out right away to contain the incident.
The incident happened in one of two stores at the facade of a demolished structure on a half-plot of land, according to the agency, while the attendant was replenishing a petrol cylinder.
The second store on the property was also impacted by the fire that started as a result of the explosion.
The statement noted that the incident was triggered by a gas explosion that occurred while an attendant was refilling a gas cylinder in one of two shops located at the frontage of a demolished building on a half-plot of land.
According to reports, the attendant suffered severe injuries during the procedure and was transported to an unnamed hospital for treatment.
The statement went on, “The resulting fire also affected the other shop, and the attendant sustained serious injuries and has been taken to an undisclosed hospital.”
At the time this news was filed, authorities did point out that no death had been confirmed.
The bureau declared, “As of the time of this report, no fatalities were reported.”
By controlling the situation, emergency personnel were able to stop additional damage from occurring in the area.
According to the fire department, investigations have started to pinpoint the precise cause of the catastrophe.
