Alleged impeachment plot against Seyi Makinde: Kinsmen clear Speaker, point fingers at external forces

Prominent PDP leaders and chieftains in Oyo State Ibarapa East Local Government Area have stated that they will not permit outside influence to destabilise the state.
Additionally, the PDP leaders declared that they would not permit anyone to sow discord between Governor Seyi Makinde and Speaker of the State House of Assembly Adebowale Ogundoyin.
These statements were made by the PDP chieftains in a statement released at the conclusion of their meeting on Wednesday.
According to a newspaper, Ogundoyin serves as the House of Assembly’s representative for the Ibarapa East State Constituency.
On Tuesday, there were rumours that the State House of Assembly, led by Ogundoyin, was attempting to remove Makinde from office. In response to the news, the Speaker’s relatives claimed the rumour was intended to sow discord between the Speaker and the governor.
At the conclusion of the conference, which was presided over by Adewuyi Ojoawo, the PDP chieftains denounced what they called attempts by outside powers to incite discontent in the state. They pledged to prevent any outside force from upsetting the current balance between the legislative and executive branches of government.
The Ibarapa PDP leaders released a statement saying, “The Forum strongly condemns any attempt by external forces to destabilise the state or disrupt the harmony currently existing between the executive and legislative arms of government.”
