Akwa Ibom: NMGS Calls For Continued Involvement Of Professionals In Mining And Geosciences

The Akwa Ibom State government has been encouraged by the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, or NMGS, to maintain professional participation in the mining and geosciences industry. The Society stated that doing so would guarantee that current and upcoming projects adhere to international standards.
At the conclusion of their 61st Annual Conference and Exhibition, which took place over the weekend in Uyo, the state capital, the Society made this statement while inspecting the Arise Palm Resort.
The Society praised Governor Umo Eno dedication to diversifying the state economy through strategic investments in tourism and non-oil sectors, emphasising the need to progress toward mining solid minerals. The Society expressed optimism that, with continued dedication, Akwa Ibom State would become one of Nigeria’s top destinations for travel and investment in solid minerals.
The Arise Palm Resort is a project that exemplifies an innovative approach to using natural and environmental assets for sustainable economic growth, according to Mrs. Emaekop Eduok, an Assistant Chief Geologist at the Ministry of Works, who spoke as she led the team around the park.
