Tems Lands Executive Producer Role for Children of Blood and Bone Soundtrack as Burna Boy Joins Creative Team

Grammy-winning Nigerian stars Tems and Burna Boy have secured major creative roles in Paramount Pictures’ highly anticipated fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone, with Tems making her executive producing debut on the movie’s soundtrack.
Tems has officially been named the executive producer and curator of the soundtrack album for Children of Blood and Bone, marking another significant milestone in her fast-growing international career.
The soundtrack will accompany the film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling fantasy novel, which is inspired by West African mythology and Yoruba culture.
According to director Gina Prince-Bythewood, Tems will not only oversee the soundtrack’s creative direction but has also recorded three original songs specifically for the movie.
Burna Boy Takes on Executive Consultant Role
Joining the soundtrack project is fellow Grammy winner Burna Boy, who will serve as an executive consultant.
His role will involve helping shape the overall musical identity of the soundtrack, ensuring it reflects the rich African influences at the heart of the film.
Tems and Burna Boy previously worked on Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which received widespread global acclaim.
Tems co-wrote Rihanna’s Oscar-nominated hit “Lift Me Up,” while Burna Boy contributed the fan-favourite track “Alone.”
BNXN and Fireboy Join the Soundtrack
The soundtrack will feature additional contributions from Nigerian Afrobeats stars BNXN and Fireboy DML, adding more contemporary African sounds to the project.
Award-winning composer Terence Blanchard is handling the film’s score, blending traditional orchestral arrangements with African instrumentation to complement the movie’s setting.
Director Gina Prince-Bythewood described the soundtrack as being deeply rooted in Afrobeats while maintaining the cinematic feel required for the fantasy epic.
