Wole Oluyede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Ekiti State, has voiced his displeasure with the way the poll was conducted at Ugele/Arokun Ward in Ikere Local Government Area.
Shortly after casting his ballot at Polling Unit 006, Ugele/Arokun Ward, Oluyede told reporters that a large number of voters at his polling place had not yet cast their ballots because of issues with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, or BVAS.
He claimed that there was intimidation and harassment of voters in the ward.
However, he said he was confident he would win the governorship.
Several elderly voters who showed up early for the election were seen at the voting place.
Most people saw the election as a struggle between Oluyede and Biodun Oyebanji, the current governor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the meantime, former state governor Ayo Fayose’s younger brother, Isaac Fayose, has previously accused the state of manipulating votes.
