Tinubu Omits Primary and Secondary School Qualifications in 2027 INEC Nomination Form

President Bola Tinubu listed only his university qualification in the educational section of the personal particulars submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 presidential election.

The nomination documents, published by INEC on Saturday as part of its revised timetable for the 2027 general election, contain the personal particulars, nomination forms, and supporting credentials of presidential and vice-presidential candidates contesting the election.

A review of Tinubu’s EC9 nomination form shows that the President entered only a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Administration obtained from Chicago State University in 1979 under the educational qualifications section.

The spaces designated for his primary and secondary school qualifications were left blank.

Despite the omission, Tinubu attached copies of his university degree certificate and his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate as part of the documents accompanying his nomination papers.

According to the form, the President stated that he was born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos and identified his occupation as a politician.

His employment history also forms part of the submission. Tinubu declared that he worked at Mobil Nigeria Limited between 1983 and 1992 before serving as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

He further listed the Federal Government of Nigeria as his current employer, indicating that he has served in that capacity from 2023 to date.

In the declaration section of the form, Tinubu also stated that he has never been dismissed from the public service.

The documents are among the nomination papers released by INEC following the commencement of the 2027 presidential election process under the commission’s revised electoral timetable.
