Kano Governor Shares N290 Million to 5,800 Women in Fresh Cash Relief

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has distributed N290 million in cash relief to 5,800 women across the state, with each beneficiary receiving N50,000.
The payment forms part of an ongoing social support programme targeting vulnerable households.
State officials said the list was compiled through local government structures and community verification, while recipients collected the funds at designated centres under the supervision of local administrators.
The governor framed the intervention as direct assistance at a time when many families face pressure from food and transport costs.
Similar distributions have taken place in previous months, though the latest round is among the larger single disbursements recorded this year.
Monitoring teams are expected to track how the money is used at household level.
The latest N290 million intervention adds to the state’s ongoing cash-support efforts as households continue to deal with rising everyday expenses.
