Fubara’s Absence From Wike’s Spain Meeting Fuels Fresh Political Speculation

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was conspicuously missing from a strategic meeting held in Spain by Nyesom Wike and other political associates, raising fresh questions about the relationship within the Rivers political camp.
The gathering included federal lawmaker Kingsley Chinda and other figures linked to the Rainbow Coalition. Fubara recently aligned with the same political platform but did not appear in photographs or reported attendance lists from the event.
That absence has intensified speculation about the state of relations within the Rivers political family. Neither the governor’s media team nor Wike’s camp has issued a detailed public explanation for why Fubara was not present.
The meeting was described by participants as being focused on 2027 calculations and coalition strategy, giving the governor’s non-appearance additional political attention.
Political observers in Port Harcourt say the development is likely to fuel further discussion about the level of unity within the group as preparations and alignments ahead of 2027 continue.
For now, there has been no detailed public explanation from either camp, leaving Fubara’s absence open to further political interpretation.
