European Founder-Finance Startup Seapoint Closes €7.5 Million Seed Round

Seapoint, an AI-native financial operations platform designed for European startups, has closed a €7.5 million seed round, taking the company’s total funding to €10 million in just over a year.

According to FinTech Global, the round was led by London-based fintech venture firm 13books and attracted more than 40 angel investors.

The funding comes as European startups continue to face challenges accessing sufficient capital to scale their businesses.

Building Financial Infrastructure for Startups

Seapoint is focused on financial operations, an area that can become increasingly complicated as startups grow.

Young companies need to manage cash flow, financial information, operational expenses and other financial processes while also dealing with fundraising and growth.

An AI-native financial operations platform aims to simplify some of these processes by using automation and artificial intelligence rather than relying entirely on manual workflows.

The company believes there is a significant opportunity to modernise financial operations for European startups.

€10 Million Raised in Just Over a Year

The latest €7.5 million seed round brings Seapoint’s total funding to €10 million, representing rapid fundraising for a company that has been operating for only a little over a year.

13books partner Michael McFadgen said the company is “building something Europe’s startup ecosystem has needed for a long time.”

The funding will give Seapoint additional resources to develop its platform and expand its presence among European startups.

Europe’s Startup Capital Gap

Seapoint is entering a European startup ecosystem where access to growth capital remains an important challenge.

The company points to approximately 24,900 tracked startups across Europe and a persistent funding gap affecting businesses trying to move beyond their early stages.

Only 29 percent of founders reportedly say they have enough capital to grow, highlighting the financial pressure facing many startups.

For Seapoint, this creates an opportunity to provide technology that can help young companies manage their financial operations more effectively while they navigate a difficult funding environment.

The new funding gives the company room to continue developing its AI-native approach as demand grows for specialised financial technology designed specifically for modern startup operations.
