Biola Fowosere Opens Up About Ex-Husband’s Sudden Abandonment, Says She Battled Depression for 18 Months

Nollywood actress and producer Biola Fowosere has shared one of the most emotional moments of her life, revealing that her ex-husband abandoned her and their children without any explanation, leaving her to battle severe depression that resulted in an 18-month hospital stay.

Speaking during an interview, the Yoruba movie star said she has spent years trying to understand why her marriage ended so abruptly, adding that her former husband disappeared from their lives and has remained unreachable ever since.

Actress Says Ex-Husband Disappeared Without Explanation

Fowosere disclosed that her ex-husband walked away from their marriage without giving her any reason, leaving her alone to care for their children.

According to the actress, the emotional pain of the separation still lingers because she never received an explanation for his decision.

“The only person I’d really want to ask a question is my ex-husband. I’d really like to ask him what I did wrong because I did nothing before he left me and the kids. I want to ask what my children and I did to deserve what he did to us.”

She said the unanswered questions have remained with her for years, making it difficult to fully heal from the painful experience.

‘He Blocked Us Seven Years Ago’

During the interview, Fowosere revealed that all attempts to reach her former husband have been unsuccessful.

She explained that shortly after leaving the family, he blocked every form of communication and has not contacted either her or their children since then.

“We are not in contact. Since he left, we haven’t seen him. He blocked us seven years ago.”

The actress said neither she nor her children have seen or spoken to him since his departure.

Depression Left Her Hospitalised for One and a Half Years

The Yoruba actress also revealed that the emotional trauma from the separation took a serious toll on her mental health.

According to her, she suffered severe depression that required long-term medical treatment and hospitalization.

“I spent one year and six months in the hospital battling depression after he left. I almost ran mad.”
