Big Cabal Media Revives Zikoko Life Anthology With New Director and Fresh Stories on Love, Sex, and Identity

Big Cabal Media has officially announced the return of Zikoko Life, the acclaimed anthology film series inspired by Zikoko’s popular editorial storytelling. Following the success of its debut edition, the new installment promises another compelling collection of stories centered on love, sex, identity, and personal freedom in contemporary Nigerian society.

The latest edition expands on the themes that made the first anthology resonate with audiences while introducing new creative voices and deeper character-driven narratives.

Zikoko Life Returns After a Successful Debut

First launched in 2025, Zikoko Life marked Big Cabal Media’s first major step into filmmaking. The anthology transformed some of Zikoko’s most recognizable editorial franchises, including Naira Life, Sex Life, and Love Life, into a collection of short films highlighting the experiences of Nigerian women.

The debut anthology earned praise for its emotionally rich storytelling, authentic female perspectives, and its successful transition from digital journalism to film.

With the second edition, Big Cabal Media is building on that momentum by introducing fresh stories focused on the realities facing young Nigerians today.

New Production Team and Director Join the Anthology

The second edition was created and executive produced by Anita E. Eboigbe for Big Cabal Media.

Production and showrunning duties are handled by Blessing Uzzi, known for her work on Freedom Way and Call of My Life, under BluHouse Studios.

Returning directors Dika Ofoma and Uzoamaka Power are back for the new anthology, while filmmaker Kaelo Iyizoba joins the project as a new director. Uzzi also contributes as the screenwriter for one of the anthology’s films.

New Stories Explore Identity, Love and Personal Freedom

The latest installment continues the anthology’s focus on intimate, character-driven storytelling.

This year’s collection follows young Nigerians as they navigate relationships, sexuality, family expectations, religion, culture, and the difficult choices that shape adulthood.

According to the announcement, the anthology continues asking the central questions that have defined the series, how people negotiate love, sex, and autonomy while balancing societal pressures and personal desires.

Siraam Leads the New Anthology Lineup

One of the featured films in the second edition is Siraam, written and directed by Uzoamaka Power.

The film stars Genoveva Umeh in the lead role and follows a young woman’s journey toward self-discovery as she confronts questions surrounding love, relationships, desire, and the future she wants for herself.

Before joining the anthology’s wider release, Siraam premiered at the S16 Film Festival in November 2025, where it received attention for its thoughtful storytelling and emotionally layered portrayal of female identity.

Its inclusion in the new Zikoko Life anthology introduces the film to a much broader audience while reinforcing the anthology’s commitment to telling honest, deeply personal Nigerian stories.

A Bigger Chapter for Zikoko’s Storytelling

With a refreshed creative team, new filmmakers, and stories that continue exploring the emotional realities of young Nigerians, the second edition of Zikoko Life aims to build on the strong reputation established by its first outing.

By combining intimate storytelling with contemporary social themes, the anthology continues Big Cabal Media’s effort to expand Zikoko’s storytelling beyond journalism and into Nigerian cinema.
