
The Oro-Ago community in Kwara State Ifelodun Local Government Area is
experiencing stress due to reports that armed bandits are gathering in preparation for another attack.
MYTIMENG According to sources, the threat notice is supported by reliable intelligence. To prevent the intended attack, all security formations have been put on “Red Alert.” In recent years, armed bandits have often attacked Oro-Ago and its surroundings, resulting in murders and kidnappings.
The recent attack that resulted in the kidnapping of eight worshippers at Omugo ECWA Church via Oro-Ago is followed by this one. The kidnappers reportedly demanded N1 billion in ransom to free the remaining five victims, including the wife of the church’s pastor, even though three of the abductees managed to escape.
According to reports, the bandits refused the N1 million that the community had already raised and demanded that the ransom be paid before the kidnappees could be released. As of the time of this story, no security agency has provided an official response.
