Abby Elliott Files for Divorce From Husband Bill Kennedy After Nearly a Decade of Marriage

Court documents filed on Friday show that the The Bear star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, with the couple’s separation reportedly beginning on July 8.
The filing marks a significant personal development for Elliott, who has enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years thanks to her acclaimed role as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto in the Emmy-winning FX series The Bear.
Abby Elliott Seeks Joint Custody of Their Two Children
According to the divorce filing, Elliott is asking the court to grant joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two children.
The former couple share:
- Edith, 5
- William, 3
In addition to the custody request, Elliott is also seeking spousal support from Kennedy while asking the court not to award him spousal support from her.
She has further requested that Kennedy cover her legal expenses as the divorce proceedings move forward.
Neither Elliott nor Kennedy had publicly commented on the filing at the time of publication.
A Romance That Began on a Movie Set

The couple married in September 2016 during a church ceremony in New England.

The divorce filing did not disclose any additional details surrounding the separation beyond citing irreconcilable differences.
