Jide Kosoko Explains Why Ogogo Cannot Be Moved From Hospital for Spiritual Treatment

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has explained why the family of ailing actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been unable to accept several offers to move him from the hospital for alternative or spiritual treatment.

Kosoko said the family has been overwhelmed by messages and offers from well-wishers who believe they have medical, spiritual or other interventions that could help the 66-year-old actor, who is reportedly battling stage-four cancer.

According to the veteran actor, more than 300 people, and in some cases over 500, have reached out with offers of assistance.

However, he said Ogogo’s current condition and ongoing hospital care make it difficult to move him from one location to another in search of different forms of treatment.

“The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?”

Kosoko made the clarification while thanking Nigerians, colleagues, friends and fans for the prayers, encouragement and offers of support that have poured in since news of Ogogo’s health condition became public.

He appealed to those who have offered spiritual or medical assistance not to misunderstand the family’s inability to bring the actor to them.

He stressed that rejecting or being unable to accept such offers does not mean the family doubts the intentions of those trying to help.

Instead, Kosoko said the overwhelming response has shown the depth of love and concern for the veteran actor, with people from different parts of the country and beyond seeking ways to support him.

Jide Kosoko Calls for More Prayers for Ogogo

While explaining the situation, Kosoko urged Nigerians to continue praying for Hassan as his treatment continues.

He said the family remains hopeful that the actor will overcome the health crisis, appealing for continued prayers and faith.

Kosoko expressed confidence that, with prayers and God’s mercy, Ogogo would come through the difficult period successfully.

The appeal comes after Ogogo’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, raised concern over their father’s worsening condition and appealed for urgent medical assistance.

The daughters had disclosed that the actor was battling stage-four cancer and called on medical professionals and facilities capable of helping him to come forward.

Ogogo Receives Fresh Medical Support After Public Appeal

The situation later took a more hopeful turn after actress Toyosi Adesanya disclosed that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, had helped connect Ogogo with cancer specialists.

Adesanya said the senator’s intervention was aimed at getting the actor access to the medical expertise needed to manage his condition. Reports subsequently indicated that Ogogo had been admitted for further treatment.

The development followed the family’s emotional appeal for help and a wave of support from Ogogo’s colleagues, fans and well-wishers.

Among those who had rallied around the actor were Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola and Bimbo Oshin, who joined calls for people with credible medical recommendations to assist the family.

As Ogogo continues receiving medical attention, colleagues and fans have continued to appeal for prayers and support for the veteran actor’s recovery.
