Abia Governor Alex Otti Approves First Phase of Medical Support for Ailing Actress Ngozi Nwosu

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved the first phase of medical funding for veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu as she prepares to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
The intervention comes after the respected actress publicly revealed her ongoing health battle and appealed for financial support to cover the cost of urgent medical procedures estimated at ₦30 million.
The governor’s support was announced by his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Justice Martins, popularly known as J Martins, who shared the development on social media.
According to him, Governor Otti approved the initial payment toward the actress’s medical expenses, providing much-needed relief as she continues treatment.
“His Excellency Alex Otti has just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress, Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu, to approve the first part of our medical bills. On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader,” J Martins wrote.
Appeal for More Public Support
Despite the governor’s intervention, J Martins urged Nigerians to continue supporting the veteran actress financially, noting that additional funds are still needed to complete her treatment.
He appealed to kind-hearted individuals, colleagues in the entertainment industry, and well-wishers to contribute toward helping Ngozi Nwosu undergo the remaining surgeries.
According to him, while the governor’s assistance marks a significant step forward, more support will be required to ensure the actress receives all the medical care she needs.
Ngozi Nwosu Revealed Three-Week Hospital Battle
The latest development follows an emotional appeal made by Ngozi Nwosu after she disclosed that she had been hospitalized for three weeks due to a serious medical condition.
The veteran actress shared a photograph from her hospital bed, describing how difficult it was to publicly ask for help. However, she explained that the severity of her health situation left her with no alternative.
She revealed that doctors recommended three life-saving surgeries, with the total cost of treatment estimated at ₦30 million, prompting her appeal to fans, colleagues, and well-wishers for financial assistance.
Governor Otti’s intervention has since been welcomed by members of the entertainment industry, who continue to express hope that more Nigerians will rally behind the actress during her recovery.
