Troops seize ammunition during patrol in Borno

During a battle patrol in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, soldiers from Operation Hadin Kai found a stockpile of ammunition.

This was revealed in a statement published on X by Zagazola Makama, a security and counterinsurgency specialist in the Lake Chad region.

According to Makama, soldiers from the 68 Battalion who were stationed nearby carried out the operation on April 18 at around 7:30 a.m.

He claims that the patrol was conducted forward of the troops’ defensive position in the direction of an alleged insurgent evacuation route after a previous attack on March 18.

He continued by saying that forces found one bandolier and 166 rounds of PKT-linked ammo during the operation. The security expert also said that during the patrol, there was no interaction with any terrorist elements.

“Troops continue to maintain high morale and operational effectiveness, while the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable,” Makama stated.
