Davido’s logistics manager, Israel DMW, has reacted angrily to the reported ban on the singer from performing in Edo State, insisting that no one can prevent the music star from visiting the state.
The controversy followed a directive reportedly issued by the Edo State Government after Davido’s recent online clash with Governor Monday Okpebholo during the Osun State governorship election.
Edo Government Reportedly Bans Davido From Performing in the State
Apostle Kassy Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okpebholo on Digital Media, announced in a video on Friday that Davido had been barred from performing in Edo State.
According to the announcement, the decision was linked to the singer’s online exchange with the governor during the Osun State governorship election.
The development quickly attracted attention online, with Davido’s supporters and members of the entertainment industry reacting to the reported directive.
Israel DMW Fires Back at the Announcement
Israel DMW, who is from Edo State and works closely with Davido, rejected the idea that the singer could be prevented from visiting the state.
He argued that Davido has a personal connection to Edo, pointing out that the singer’s mother is from the state.
Israel also attacked Kassy Chukwu over the announcement, questioning his authority to speak on behalf of Edo residents.
In a strongly worded post shared alongside a picture of the governor’s aide, Israel described Chukwu as a “settler” and accused him of causing trouble in Benin City.
He further insisted that the announcement should not be regarded as the position of the people of Edo State.
‘No Man Can Ban Oga From Edo’
Israel made his position clear in the fiery post, declaring that Davido could not be banned from Edo, which he described as the singer’s maternal home.
He wrote:
“He’s from Ebonyi State, and not from Edo. 100% a real settler, who has become a complete nuisance in Benin City.”
Israel continued by dismissing the reported ban, adding:
“Kindly disregard what he’s saying. He’s not speaking for we Edolites. No man on this planet earth, can ban Oga from Edo, his maternal home.”
The heated reaction has added another layer to the growing controversy surrounding Davido and the Edo State Government, with attention now focused on whether the reported ban will stand and whether the singer will respond personally to the development.
