Kano LGA council suspends chairman and deputy

Due to accusations of financial mismanagement and administrative irregularities, the Kura Local Government Area legislative council suspended its Executive Chairman, Alhaji Rabiu Abubakar Sulaiman Kura, and his deputy, Alhaji Bello Gambo Kura, for three months.
According to the council, the suspension will enable a thorough and open inquiry into the allegations. The investigation will concentrate on how public finances are managed and how land is distributed. Kura Ward councillor Malam Ibrahim Tijjani Na’abba stated that the move was done for accountability and fairness.
“We have formally suspended the chairman for three months today,” he declared. In order to conduct additional research, we will also send the issue to the Kano State House of Assembly. We are confident that the Speaker of the State Assembly and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf would see to it that justice is done.
Na’abba continued, “The case involves large sums of money, suggesting the alleged mismanagement is serious.” Dan Hassan Ward councillor Hamza Abdullahi also confirmed the suspension and expressed worries about how it will affect nearby vendors.
He declared, “I have long fought for justice for traders.” “Some of them had as little as $5,000 when they first started, but they were moved to make room for others.” We are requesting that the governor investigate this issue and help the impacted dealers.
He also urged the state administration to think about constructing free market booths and giving displaced traders free shops.
Tanawa Ward council member and minority leader Yahuza Ashiru Zakariyya, however, supported the chairman and his deputy, claiming the accusations are untrue.
He declared, “I don’t think the chairman and his deputy did anything wrong.”
