Army apprehends alleged kidnapping kingpin in Adamawa

During an operation in Adamawa State, Nigerian Army troops apprehended a suspected kidnapping kingpin. Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the detention in a post on X on Saturday.
According to the post, troops from the 23 Brigade Garrison conducted the operation in Mansur Village, Toungo Local Government Area, on April 2 in response to reliable intelligence.
According to the source, the 23 Military Intelligence Regiment provided the information that prompted a cordon and search operation in the region.
During the Tambaya-Toungo axis exercise, the soldiers collaborated with members of the Hunters’ Association.
The suspect was apprehended and placed under investigation during the operation.
According to preliminary findings, he was connected to a criminal organization engaged in kidnapping and a recent attack on a military facility in Bauchi State’s Alkaleri Local Government Area that allegedly caused casualties and equipment loss.
According to security officials, the suspect is presently being questioned in order to learn more about the network and activities of the gang.
According to reports, military operations are still going on in the region as soldiers work to dismantle criminal organisations and stop additional attacks on communities and security forces.
