A 12-year-old boy from Benue State who was previously reported missing has been found safe in Gombe State, with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) launching efforts to reunite him with his family.
The child, identified as Reuben Mtagher, is from Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. He was reportedly found in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State and is currently under the care of the NSCDC.
Boy Found Alive and in Good Health
The NSCDC confirmed that Reuben was found alive and is in good health. He is currently being cared for at the NSCDC Gombe State Command Headquarters while authorities work to locate his relatives.
Officials disclosed that the boy speaks only the Tiv language, which has made communication and efforts to identify his family more challenging.
NSCDC Shares Family Details to Aid Identification
In a bid to speed up the search for his relatives, the NSCDC revealed that Reuben has three brothers identified as:

Authorities Appeal for Parents and Relatives
The NSCDC has appealed to Reuben’s parents, guardians, relatives, or anyone with credible information about his family to visit the NSCDC Gombe State Command Headquarters for proper identification and to facilitate the child’s reunion with his loved ones.
The agency reaffirmed that the boy remains safe in its custody while efforts continue to ensure he is returned home as quickly as possible.
