Ben Murray-Bruce, a former senator from Bayelsa, has explained why Rotimi Amaeachi, the former minister of transport, and five other governors left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.
Murray-Bruce blamed the problem on terrible choices and counsel that former President Goodluck Jonathan was receiving from his aides in a widely shared video that was seen by Newspaper.
He claimed that people close to the former president disregarded many alerts regarding the rising discontent among important PDP governors.
He claimed that some presidential advisors did not act quickly enough to address the obvious indications that important party figures were dissatisfied and thinking about defecting.
“I am astounded when I consider my encounters with individuals who were so inept and uncaring about the people they served, offering the Commander in Chief foolish counsel. He remarked, “I can’t get over it.”
