Juju music legend Y.K. Ajao passes away

Yekini Kolawole Ajao, often known as Y.K. Ajao, a well-known juju musician from Nigeria, passed away. On Friday night, musician Shina Peters announced his passing in a statement on her Instagram page.
It’s still difficult to accept that you were more than simply a friend—you were my brother. Professor Y.K. Ajao, you will always be remembered for your presence, sound, and spirit.
“I appreciate everything you’ve done. The memories will always be with me.
“My brother, rest well. The post said, “Your music and legacy endure, and you will always be remembered.”
When he started his own band, “Y.K. Ajao & His Professional Brothers Band,” in 1973, Yekini Ajao became a professional.
Although his musical style originated in the juju heritage, he developed a unique sub-style known as “Juju Makossa.”
