2027: ADC Lists Reasons Tinubu Should Be Concerned Ahead of Election

Citing widespread hardship and instability in the nation, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has stated that President Bola Tinubu should be worried about losing the general elections in 2027. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, released a statement on Friday stating that Tinubu would be running against “millions of Nigerians” impacted by what it called “unprecedented economic and security challenges under his administration.”

According to the Newspaper, the ADC was responding to Tinubu recent statements that he was not scared of the opposition and allegedly made fun of their convention.

The party called the President’s remarks “unpresidential” and accused him of concentrating on politics rather than urgent national problems such growing poverty and insecurity.

The President’s comments, according to the ADC, showed “anxiety” and a detachment from the problems that citizens face, such as rising living expenses, food inflation, and dwindling purchasing power. Nigerians did not witness the assurance of a capable leader.

It was the worry of a president who was becoming more and more detached from the reality of the suffering, uncertainty, and annoyance that millions of people were dealing with.

“Instead of addressing the suffering of Nigerians, the President chose to make fun of the opposition at a time when families are struggling with a historic cost of living crisis, food inflation, growing debt loads, and declining purchasing power.

” But as he was speaking, there were rumours that kids were being kidnapped from testing facilities. The ADC stated, “This is the reality of Nigeria today: insecurity is becoming more pervasive in daily life while the government seems preoccupied.”

The opposition party insisted that its convention was not held on the street and criticised the President’s description of it. It implied that the President might have been misinformed.

In addition, the party called Tinubu’s attempt to win over followers of the late former president Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the upcoming election ridiculous.
