Insecurity: Actress Sunshine Rosman laments, ‘People are being slaughtered’

Nollywood actress Sunshine Rosman has expressed concern about Nigeria’s growing poverty, insecurity, and suffering, asking when the country’s government and citizenry will eventually act decisively.

The actress lamented the nation economic predicament, the growing poverty rate, and the ongoing death toll from violent attacks, especially in areas of Northern Nigeria, in an impassioned outburst.

Rosman stated, sobbing, that despite the severity of the situation, Nigerians seem to have normalised suffering. “As Nigerians, when will we awaken? When will it be sufficient at last? She enquired.

She claimed that although the economic difficulties were severe on their own, the ongoing murders and displacement of innocent people had made the situation much more tragic.

“We can’t even start discussing the current state of the economy, poverty rate, and infrastructure in this nation. She added, “But as if that’s not terrible enough, innocent people are being slaughtered.”

The actress also voiced concern about communities being forced to flee their homes because of fear and instability, pointing out that many residents feel helpless and abandoned.

Rosman bemoaned, “People have to migrate from their towns, homes, and villages because they know that nothing will be done, and lives are being lost for nothing.”

Rosman also exhorted Nigerians to speak up in response to the nation’s mounting suffering and insecurity. “It is no longer possible to overlook Nigeria’s suffering, hardship, and insecurity,” she continued.

Her remarks coincide with the devastating attacks, fatalities, and property losses that have occurred across the nation.
