Seun Kuti claims Fela wives had relationships with other men

Seun Kuti, a maverick singer, has asserted that his father, the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, did not forbid his wives from having extramarital affairs. He went on to say that this was one of Fela’s worst mistakes, claiming that some of the ladies eventually contracted HIV from their other lovers and gave it to the late singer.
In a recent Instagram livestream, Kuti stated that he was the victim and refuted rumours that Fela was the one who infected his girlfriends.
“Fela made a lot of mistakes,” he remarked. One of his blunders was that, one day, I came across a video of a woman on the internet asking why people were honouring Fela’s legacy in spite of the fact that he gave women HIV and died of AIDS.
“Oh, Fela, do you see yourself?” I asked. Fela would still be alive if he had been a conventional man. I’ll tell you something about him that you may not be aware of: all of Fela’s girlfriends were involved with other guys.
“Fela didn’t keep his girlfriends to himself. He thought that since he could have sex with any woman, the women could meet other guys as well. They were prohibited from bringing the men to his home by his legislation.
“HIV was brought home to my father by his women because he doesn’t go out to sleep with other women.” No one is flawless. Everyone makes errors. However, Fela is a man who supports mankind.
According to Newspaper, Fela gained notoriety on February 20, 1978, in Lagos, when he wed 27 women in a single traditional ceremony.
