Omah Lay says Nigerian music industry is driven by ego

Omah Stanley Didia, better known by his stage name Omah Lay, is an Afrobeats musician who has shared his opinions on the dynamics of relationships in the Nigerian music industry.
He claims that the industry is rife with egos.
Omah Lay stated on a recent episode of the Nando Leaks podcast that he is content with a tiny social circle because he has a “weird” nature and doesn’t want for approval from others.
He claimed that he only had pals who can relate to him.
He said he has a big ego yet is reserved.
I don’t have many friends because of my peculiar personality and my belief that I am just that guy.
I don’t talk to many people, and the ones I do talk to are those who make an effort to understand where I’m coming from.
“There are a lot of egos in the Nigerian music scene. I’m a laid-back man with an excessive amount of ego.
Making friends like that is difficult, according to Omah Lay.
The singer continued by saying that he occasionally tries to be modest since he thinks having a big ego can impede advancement.
