Actress Lilian Afegbai reacts angrily to AMVCA snub, says keep your Award

Lilian Afegbai, a Nollywood actress, has criticised the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) organisers for leaving her out of the 2026 nominees.

According to a newspaper, Lilian Afegbai co-star in “To Kill a Monkey,” Bimbo Akintola, was nominated for Best Lead Actress in the 12th edition of the AMVCA.

Afegbai responded by criticising the organisers for ignoring her, claiming that her role, Idia, was the most popular character in the popular television series “To Kill a Monkey.”

However, she said that the organisers can “eat” their award and that she doesn’t really care about validations. She typed, “AMVCA smh,” on her X handle. I always prefer to think that everything occurs for a reason.Lilian Afegbai
“A nomination is not necessary for me to be validated. It’s obvious: Idia from TKAM was the biggest trend of the previous year. Her performance was flawless. Your reward is yours to eat.
